Cindy Chang Reveals a Gorgeous Operatic Voice on 'America's Got Talent' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 30th 2011 1:31AM
Cindy Chang, 'America's Got Talent'All her life, 42-year old Cindy Chang has harbored a secret dream of being a singer. But, according to her audition on 'America's Got Talent' (Wed., 9PM ET on NBC), "My parents said no."

Well, nobody could possibly say no to her after she opened her mouth and let loose with one of the smoothest and most beautiful opera voices the show has ever seen.

More polished than Jackie Evancho and, we think, more in control even than Susan Boyle's initial audition across the pond, Chang meekly and sweetly just put every other competitor on notice.

After she finished singing, she was instantly overwhelmed by the outcry of support and accolades sweeping over the stage, but she had earned every bit of it. Piers Morgan even gave her a rare standing ovation, with a single word critique, "Wow."

Personally, we can't wait to see her in Las Vegas. On a related note, we can't wait to get to Las Vegas. We know NBC was waiting until 'The Voice' wrapped to expand 'AGT' to two hours and move on with the season, but these audition rounds feel like they've been going on since last summer!

You know what..Most Asian women/men are not allow to sing because the ramification and old stereotype a prostitute or being labeled as gays of the entertainment/art industry (many stereotype will take decades to break). Many of us are tracked to be a real professional people instead of being an artist. Thank you so much for being a breath of fresh air. Don't feel bad, this also happened to Andreas Bocelli as well who had to be an attorney first before he finally realizes his true passion. Good luck..Mrs. Chang

Cindy is a beautiful lady with a beautiful voice! Hers was the best audition of the show. She will go far- I love her voice even more that Susan Boyle's... Cindy has the proper training and the drive to succeed. 3 cheers for her!

AGT had better change their way of doing things or they are going to lose all their audience. This year is the pits and all they are showing just about are crummy acts that don't even deserve to be shown on TV. I really have not seen one person I would even bother voting for. My husband and I both are just about to quit watching the show. Britain's Got Talent is so much better. Let's have some real talent for a change. And this girl on the video...where did she come from as I never even saw her audition on AGT and I think we've watched every show that I know of. Anyway, she has a beautiful voice.

Comparing some 42 year old woman to a ten year old girl is ludicrous. "More polished" or not, I'd rather listen to Jackie Evancho any day.

I liked Cindy's interview. Her nervous chuckles made me chuckle. How charming, cute, and unassuming. Cindy is so unlike the others who come on the show boasting that "I am going to knock it out of the ballpark " Best wishes, Cindy. They can stop the auditions now. You have already won. (Just waiting to see the lady in a lovely gown and all made up). She is stunning.
