Starz Cancels 'Camelot,' Jay Mohr to Sub for Andy Cohen on 'Watch What Happens Live' & More TV News

by Jean Bentley, posted Jun 30th 2011 6:45PM
CamelotStarz has canceled freshman drama 'Camelot.' According to Deadline, the decision came because of "significant production challenges."

The costume drama, which shot in Ireland, was experiencing scheduling conflicts with several of its actors, Deadline reports. The King Arthur legend retelling drew 1.5 million viewers for its season finale earlier this month, but Starz declined to bring back the series for a second season anyway.

In other TV news ...

Bravo's Andy Cohen is taking a day off. On Sun., July 10, Jay Mohr will fill in as host on 'Watch What Happens Live.' The actor blogs about the 'Real Housewives' for BravoTV.com, so it's not a completely out-of-left-field choice. [EW]

Dichen Lachman, formerly of Joss Whedon's 'Dollhouse,' has landed new series regular role. The Aussie actress will play a vampire on Syfy's 'Being Human.' [TV Line]

This weekend's annual 'Twilight Zone' marathon on Syfy should be especially poignant -- a movie is reportedly in the works about the show's creator, Rod Serling. [Deadline]

Hi, Ed!

STARZ.....somebody on top needs to investifate what happened anda couple of people need to join the unemployment lines...Camelot was a fine series and my wife and I looked forward to seeing it each week. The given reason for cancelling the show is TOTAL BULL ****, maybe they'll be happy replacing it with some diversity show about lesbians or homo-sexuals. Stupid move.

Camelot was awesome!!! Starz is just too lazy to work around the scheduling conflicts eh? Too bad, now they will lose viewers to the crappy show that will replace it...
