The FEC Rules Stephen Colbert 'Can Haz' Colbert SuperPAC (VIDEO)

It's been two months in the making -- and Stephen Colbert had the withered balloons to prove it -- but his Colbert SuperPAC is finally a thing of reality. He appeared before the Federal Election Commission Thursday morning to hear their ruling, and then took to 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central) to tell his Colbert Nation."Today I changed the course of America," he declared before going into a clip of the actual vote.
The smile on his face was priceless -- as if he couldn't believe this was actually happening -- when he was told, "Mr. Colbert, you may form your PAC and proceed as the commission has advised in this opinion."
And he's done just that, accepting donations on the steps of the FEC building, and establishing a new website at ColbertSuperPAC.com. Because ColbertPAC.com was still affiliated with parent company Viacom, and officially separating the two entities was the whole point of this thing, he has to start over amassing emails and accepting donations.
Somehow, though, we think he'll do just fine. His fans are probably more than excited to see what kind of marketing campaigns Colbert SuperPAC comes up with as we head into the 2012 election season. We certainly are.
