'The Price Is Right' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) saluted the military Thursday for the July 4 holiday weekend with a special episode. The audience was filled with service people, and the contestants were all from the military. Obviously, that included Joshua and Amber, the final two left standing in the Showcase Showdown.Joshua's showcase was an off-road motorcycle, quad bike, a tailgater, and an SUV. Amber's was a trip on a private jet to Vegas, a Mustang convertible, and $2,500 in spending cash. Either would have been a nice haul, but both contestants underbid by a wide margin.
Joshua bid $25,500 on his showcase, which turned out to be worth $49,378, a whopping $23,878 difference. Amber did better by only a small margin, bidding $38,500 on a showcase worth $59,680, beating out Joshua by $2,698. All told, Amber took home $62,684 in prizes. Hopefully, they let her drive the convertible home so she can enjoy it during the long weekend.
