Shanna Can't Handle Daughter Savanna Crying on 'Toddlers and Tiaras' (VIDEO)

'Toddlers & Tiaras'You can't help but have your heart break a little for these girls on 'Toddlers & Tiaras' (Wed., 10PM ET on TLC) when they start cracking under the pressure. This week it was Savanna's turn, which put her mother in a difficult position.

Savanna was crying because a hairpiece she was wearing wasn't sitting comfortably on her head, but there simply wasn't time to redo the whole thing and as per the rules of this particular pageant, she needed to have a hairpiece.

It got awkward when mother Shanna started asking Savanna if she just wanted to drop out of the pageant. The girl alternated between teary-eyed nodding and shaking her head, as if she wasn't sure what the right answer was and she didn't want to disappoint her mother.

Shanna seemed unable to make the decision, or she was using it as a moment to teach her daughter about how tough competitive pageantry can be. Maybe she needed Savanna to decided to fight through the pain, go out there and compete. But the little girl looked simply overwhelmed by the magnitude of the situation.

What Shanna wasn't maybe seeing was how important it was for Savanna to please her mom and make her happy. That's a motivation and a drive so strong in younger kids that parents simply can't fully appreciate how powerful it is. We're beyond that level of development and emotional attachment to anyone.

Our instinct, though we know it wouldn't have helped the situation at all, was to simply wrap Savanna up into a big hug and tell her that it was going to be okay. But we're big softies like that.

I just recently watched this for the first time and was absolutely horrified at what monsters these parents are creating. Arrogant, self-centered, whining, rude brats who are going to grow up thinking they are the only one who matters, It actually makes me nauseous watching what these kids go through and for what!!!!! It is beyond disgusting.
