If you've already read the 'Harry Potter' books, you know there are some surprises in store for the final installment of the film version, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -- Part 2,' which opens Friday. Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley, was on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) Monday to talk about how the franchise ends, and what the cast's future might hold.Hoda Kotb pointed out that 'Deathly Hallows -- Part 2' has more action and is darker than previous films. "This is kind of the war now," said Grint. "This is a war film. We become soldiers, and characters naturally don't make it to the end." While he confirmd that Ron makes it, he wouldn't say if Hermione lives, and couldn't hold back a wry smirk when asked, much to Kathie Lee and Hoda's dismay. We're guessing the gals haven't read the books.
Grint also talked about the bond the 'Potter' cast-members share, mentioning that he recently saw Daniel Radcliffe perform in the Broadway production of 'How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.' "We'll always be in touch," he said, noting that they share the unique experience of growing up together so publicly. We certainly hope they'll stay friends, if only to ensure the dark arts don't fall into the wrong hands.
