Ron Swanson, Parks and RecreationWhen Season 4 of 'Parks and Recreation' kicks off, expect a supporting player to shine: Ron Swanson's prodigious facial hair.

Yes, that epic and oh-so manly mustache will be featured prominently in the fourth season of the hit NBC comedy.

"The current plan is for Ron's facial hair to go through a lot of changes in the first few episodes," Mike Schur, 'Parks and Rec.' executive producer, told TV Guide. "He'll have several different looks in the first few episodes if things stay the way they're planned. Honestly, it wasn't our goal -- to send Ron's facial hair through its own arc -- but we pitched these stories for him involving Tammy 1 and all these other things and we found ourselves in this funny situation where a lot of the ways that we wanted to tell the story of what was happening to him involved his facial hair -- as it should, probably, when you have someone with facial hair as distinctive as Nick's."

There should be plenty to play with. Nick Offerman has been growing one bodacious beard the last few months for Budweiser's 'Grow One. Save a Million' water preservation campaign, which we talked to him about in June.

Speaking of Tammy 1, viewers will probably have to wait until episode two of the new season to meet the lovely mystery lady.

Here's what we know about her: She scares Ron and Tammy 2, played by Offerman's real-life wife Megan Mullally, which is no easy feat. "We talked about pretty much every possible iteration of who she is and what her backstory is and all we knew is that we didn't want to do the same thing we did with Tammy 2," Schur said. "Tammy 1 is her own specific brand of demon. I think we came up with backstory for her that's both funny and illuminating and also answers all of the questions that you would have when seeing people's reactions to her presence in the finale."

So just who will play Tammy 1? Casting is still underway, but Offerman has made no secret who he wants in the role: Oprah.

"We're trying to start a campaign to get Oprah to play Tammy 1," Offerman told The Huffington Post. "I think Oprah would be the only, she's the only person we can think of that might be intimidating to Megan Mullally. It would be so good."
