'Rookie Blue' Renewed for Season 3

Rookie Blue'Rookie Blue' is a bona fide summer hit. ABC and Canadian broadcaster Global television announced today that their jointly produced summer series will return in 2012 for a third season.

According to the release, the show has performed well for ABC after its time slot move to 10PM on Thursdays. The series is the No. 1 show in its time slot among adults 18-49, and has improved 8 percent in total viewers from its rookie season. Season 3 is currently in development, and will shoot in Canada at the end of the summer.

The Toronto-set drama follows the personal and professional lives of newbie cops played by Missy Peregrym, Gregory Smith, Travis Milne, Enuka Okuma and Charlotte Sullivan -- kind of like a police-focused 'Grey's Anatomy.'

Thursday's episode, 'Heart & Sparks,' focuses on the aftermath of the attack on Detective Callagan.

That's great news that Rookie Blue is renewed for next year!!!! Please put Andy and Sam BACK TOGETHER!!!! They are a good couple and add some humor to the show!

WHY is "Rookie Blue" such a short season?? i'm loving it sooooo much then its over !! Can they not add more shows pleeeeeese. I hope Andy & Sam get back together n i really miss Jerry as he and Tracy were soo good, almost as good as sam & andy, my gosh they are so hot , but put a little more warmth in sam lol he is so cute...geeeeezzz.

Wow it's been awhile since i have been addicted to a show.
Rookie Blue is exciting, hot, refreshing and drama packed..
My only gripe is why kill Jerry? He was hoy, sexy, funny and his chemistry with Tracy was nice.
I think Luke is hot but i didn't want him back and certainly not at Jerry's expense.
Can't wait for the rest of the season........

Wow it's been awhile since i have been addicted to a show....
This show is exciting, refreshing and the writing is sensational.
I do have a gripe! why kill Jerry? His character was cool, sexy and i loved his chemistry with Tracy.
I really think Luke is hot but i am not glad that he is back at Jerry's expense.....
Writers please don't dont loose your edgy writing.

I just saw the Thursday Nite episode of Rookie Blues and was very very disappointed that Det Callaghan was killed off, what was the purpose of that, is the other detective going to come back and make trouble for Andy and Sam?

Have been waiting for the return of Rookie Blue. Great actors and just enough action to keep you sitting on the edge of your seat. Even some romance. This show is definitely a hit. Maybe think about airing 6-8 weeks of shows mid-season, too.
