Mark Cuban on 'Real Time': People Would Rather Fight for Their Country Than Pay Higher Taxes (VIDEO)

Mark Cuban Bill MaherEntrepreneur and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban joined columnist Dan Savage and Reuters editor Chrystia Freeland on Friday's episode of 'Real Time With Bill Maher' (Fridays, 10PM on HBO).

While trying to make a point, a passionate Cuban knocked his drink across the table – Whoops! – and faced a tough crowd who disagreed with his assessment that most people would rather volunteer to fight in a war than pay higher taxes.

"Nobody raises their hand and says 'I'll go fight for my country,'" Maher replied. "Hardly anybody does that. The reason why our wars are off our radar is because we don't have to fight them ... Most people would not fight for their country."

Maher agreed with Savage and Freeland, who said that wars are fought by "poor people" who enlist in the service because the "need a job real badly."

What do you think? Was Maher speaking a hard truth, or was Cuban's gung-ho assessment of the average American's willingness to fight closer to the truth?
