Wolfgang Puck Embarrasses Jyll on 'Food Network Star' (VIDEO)

by Mike Moody, posted Jul 18th 2011 9:30AM
fiid network starJill got schooled by the master -- Wolfgang Puck -- on this week's episode of 'Food Network Star' (Sun., 9PM on FOOD).

"This is not really a risotto," Puck exclaimed after tasting Jyll's latest dish during the episode, 'Dinner Party for Wolfgang Puck.' Puck made good on his promise to teach Jill how to make a "real risotto" by escorting her to the kitchen and showing her how to properly prepare the dish, step-by-step.

Jyll was obviously humiliated, but she kept her cool in front of the cameras and in front of the judges. And, perhaps most importantly, she never lost it in front of Puck, even as his impromptu cooking lesson took on a slightly belittling tone.

Puck didn't care for Jyll's food, but he loved her attitude. He gave her a thumbs up for keeping her smile during the whole horrifying process.

Lucky for Jyll, Puck didn't follow her into the house after the ordeal was over. With tears in her eyes, she told her fellow contestants, "I'm embarrassed." Well, we're embarrassed for you too, Jyll!

I worked with Wolfgang Puck before. He is a slob in the kitchen. I never met anyone more dirty. She should have thrown the "risotto" in his face.

He didn't embarrass her, he eviscerated her. But hey, he's a multi-millionaire chef with a dozen or more successful restaurants, I think he knows what good risotto looks like.

Bravo to Jyll for keeping her composure! As embarrassing as it was for her in the moment, she'll surely make perfect Risotto in the future.

He didn't taste it, he took one look at it and just on the firmness of the risoto called Jyll out.
