'Cash Cab' Kills Canadian Pedestrian

by Chris Harnick, posted Jul 19th 2011 1:35PM
CabReality struck 'Cash Cab' when a Surrey, British Columbia man was hit and killed by the car used in the Canadian version of the popular game show.

According to CNN, the driver, a producer on the series, was driving the cab back to storage after filming on Friday night when he struck a 61-year-old man in the Downtown East Side district of Vancouver.

The victim died in a local hospital after the accident.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and his friends and his family," Andrew Burnstein, president of Castlewood Productions Inc., producer of the Canadian version of 'Cash Cab,' said in a statement. "My heart also goes out to the driver of the vehicle, a member of our technical staff, who is shaken and devastated by this tragic accident, as is our entire team."

No charges have been filed against the producer.

'Cash Cab' airs in the United States on the Discovery Channel with host Ben Bailey. Find out what he had to say about working 'Cash Cab' from an interview AOL TV did with him in February.

Oh you AOL headline writers...so willing to bend the facts to make us click on the story links. 61 is "elderly"? And way to make what was, essentially, a workplace accident sound like it happened on camera. Sensationalize much? You know...as if it isn't enough of a tragedy without tarting up the facts. Condolences to the victim.

After 60 they all should plan on dying everyday. They have outlived their usefulness and need to make room for the 10's of millions of illegal anchor children being raised in the US. ALLAH BLESS OBAMA FOR MAKING IT A REALITY.

It's the REPUBLICAN health plan that seeks to kill seniors by replacing Medicare with private insurance that can run out. Obama's health care plan will save lives. There's no question about that.

I have been to Vancouver multiple times......the traffic isn't as bad as LA even though the population is very dense.
and the closest I came to being run down was in Boston ( not including Europe). Sorry to the mans family though!
