Rebecca Black gained instant fame in February with her much-parodied song 'Friday,' a YouTube sensation that, as 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM on CBS) reported Tuesday, earned her 167 million hits. The 14-year-old singer's popularity inspired an inevitable backlash, and Monday she released her response, a new single called 'My Moment.'The report talked about the backlash, specifically the negative comments internet commenters made about her voice and inexperience. Black seemed to take it in stride, joining Katy Perry for her video spoof, 'Last Friday Night,' and making a few videos lampooning her song for FunnyorDie.com. "All of it has been so amazing," she told 'Early.'
'My Moment' starts with the lyrics, "Weren't you the one who said that I would be nothing? Well I'm about to prove you wrong." With more than 1,615,000 hits in about 24 hours on YouTube, Black might just be right.
