Captain Keith Gets Violent With a Cameraman on 'Deadliest Catch' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 20th 2011 5:00PM
Captain Keith Colburn loses his temper with camerman Brad Carper on 'Deadliest Catch'The drama on 'Deadliest Catch' (Tuesdays, 9PM on the Discovery Channel) usually comes from the pressure the captains and crew are under to make a good haul and pay their bills, not the pressure of filming a reality show. But things got out of control on Tuesday's episode, when Captain Keith Colburn exploded at a cameraman, pushing him against a wall and screaming in his face.

Colburn was stressed, sitting at the helm ranting about running a three million dollar business that was two million dollars in debt. "I don't know why I [bleep!] deal with it," he said. That's when Colburn picked up the phone, snapped at cameraman Brad Carper, who wanted to talk to the producer, and then went after Carper, yelling at him about how he sleeps too much and never makes him coffee.

Colburn walked off, and when Carper tried to follow him, he spun on him, grabbed him by the collar and pushed him through the galley, screaming, "Hey! Don't you [bleep!] get in my face!" Carper seemed stunned, but he didn't back down. Colburn's Chris Farley-esque, van-down-by-the-river tone would have been comical if there weren't a legitimate, dangerous rage underneath.

Both 'redneck' and 'Hillbilly' are great compliments.

I wish they'd get rid of Keith. He's sickening. Even the young captain, Elliott, has calmed down and is now easier to watch. Please, No one wants Keith on the show.

What do you expect out of red neck hill billies with no couth? If that type is going to be on TV, they need to stick to the Jerry Springer shows.

CHZYRIDER....You obviously don't respect people...NO ONE has the right to put their hands on anyone. Keith had a lousy oppilleo crap season and he takes it out on a camera man....He is a f...ing ******* and as long as Discovery has him in the fleet, I will not watch anymore...He is a do what I say person and not as I do. He is the most undesireable person on the fleet. I hope he fuckin dies.
