Paris Hilton Kicks Off the First of Her Bicoastal 30th Birthday Parties in New York (VIDEO)

'The World According to Paris'Paris Hilton has certain standards for celebrating her birthday. "It's not a birthday unless I celebrate it in at least two time zones," she explained on 'The World According to Paris' (Wed., 10PM ET on Oxygen).

We're sure most Americans feel that way, which is why most Americans will have to simply stop celebrating their birthdays.

But Hilton has no problems having a lavish party in New York in anticipation of the "big party in LA" in a couple days time. Until then, she had to settle for the likes of Adrian Grenier, Lil' Wayne and Kathy Griffin to keep her satisfied.

Hilton was turning 30, which can be a difficult milestone for many women, but the heiress took it in stride, and even got a little reflective.

"I've realized that turning 30 isn't really that big of a deal," she said. "Growing up does't mean that I have to grow old ... It just means I have to pay more attention to the most important things in my life."

There was something about thongs and granny panties, too, but you get the point. Hilton isn't necessarily going to settle down and stop her wild partying ways completely. She's just going to do so with a broader perspective and a deeper understanding of what really matters. There'll be plenty of time for knitting later in life.

Turning thirty is a huge milestone, bye bye our twenties... Fortunately, personal accomplishments make up for the loss ;)
