Megan Mullally Joins 'Happy Endings,' Talks Nick Offerman's Emmy Snub

Nick Offerman, Megan MullallyMegan Mullally is going from one critically-acclaimed comedy to another, taking a leave as Tammy on 'Parks and Recreation' to go play on ABC's 'Happy Endings' this season.

The 'Will & Grace' veteran spilled the beans to Zap2It at Comic-Con.

"I'm going to do a little arc," Mullally told them. She admitted she hasn't signed any contracts yet, but that she'll be playing a mom to one of the show's funny leading ladies. "... Rumor has it I'm going to be playing Casey [Wilson's] mother. I love her."

Mullally, perhaps best known for her years as Karen Walker on 'Will & Grace,' last popped up on 'Parks and Recreation' opposite her real-life husband Nick Offerman in the Season 3 finale.

'Parks and Rec' received an Emmy nomination for best comedy, but fans and critics were vocal about Offerman's snub in the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category. Mullally said the reaction to his snub by the press and fans was "mind-blowing," while Offerman "took it like a champ."

"His PR firm, each day, sends him anything that's written about him, and there were like 30 blogs about it. I've never seen anything like that. People online went insane."

Amy Poehler, who received an Emmy nomination for her role as Leslie Knope on the NBC series, was also vocal with her feelings on the snub.

"But it's a hot load of bullsh*t that he didn't get a nomination, and you can quote me on that. But I suspect and hope that will change," Poehler told HitFix the day nominations were announced. "And certainly that field, there's a lot of talented men vying for that position. If you asked Nick, he'd say the show is represented. But I would say his work on the show is the best stuff on TV, and he deserves every award."

Are you excited to see Mullally on another show? And do you agree about her husband's Emmy snub?

Love this show and definitely looking forward to that arc. She would be the perfect on-screen mother to Penny.

The main problem with the Supporting Actor Category for Comedy is that NONE of the Modern Family guys allow themselves to be nominated in the Main Actor Catgegory for Comedy.

Look, guys, we get it, you're an ensemble, but one or two of y'all (Ed O'Neil, Ty Burrell, looking at YOU) needs to step up and allow your name to be submitted for MAIN ACTOR for a Comedy, because you're really screwing over guys who deserve to be nominated (and WIN) in other worthy shows.

Looking forward to seeing Megan on another show and surprised that Nick didn't get an Emmy nomination but I'm sure his time will come.
