The 'Nikita' Cast Talks Fan Support & Season 2, Plus the Comic-Con First Look

by Jean Bentley, posted Jul 23rd 2011 4:00PM
Maggie Q and Shane West want you to know that they're incredibly grateful for their dedicated, faithful 'Nikita' fans.

In fact, when we stopped the pair on the CW Upfront red carpet a while back, they had less than a minute to chat before they were ushered away and spent that entire time gushing about their fans getting them the pick-up for Season 2 (premieres Fri., Sept. 23, 8PM ET on The CW).

"We're so lucky, aren't we?" Maggie remarked to her costar. "They're so amazing."

West agreed. "Yes we are. It's pretty amazing to see that everyday. It's kind of phenomenal what they've created, really."

"I don't think they understand how much their support means to us," Maggie continued. "It's just cool to create something and have people connect with it. You want them to, but you never know."

"In this day and age, you find out quicker if they do, with Twitter and the Internet and YouTube, things like that," West added. "You hope that what you're doing is respected and liked and loved, and we get to hear that immediately, which is really exciting."

Costar Lyndsy Fonseca agreed when we pulled her aside later. "Aren't they so great? Aren't they? I'm very lucky."

We only had a chance to ask her a few fan-submitted questions, but enjoy her very brief but teaser-y answers:

Are you excited for Season 2?
I'm so excited! I think by the end of the first season we were in such a good rhythm that I'm really excited to get an opportunity to show the fans what we love doing so much.

Where's Alex's head at the end of the season?
Alex is contemplating a lot right now. I'm really, really excited for everybody to see the path that she goes on. She's really starting to become her own person instead of following in the shadows of everyone else.

Is Owen, played by Devon Sawa, coming back?
I really hope that Devon comes back and Noah [Bean] comes back and Thad [Luckinbill] comes back. It would be really great to have all the boys again.

What was your favorite episode of Season 1?
I loved episode 6, 'Resistance,' and I loved the last two. I think the writers really just outdid themselves."
