'Dancing With the Stars' Season 13: Bigger Names, Worse Performances?

Dancing With the StarsWhen 'Dancing With the Stars' returns for Season 13, expect bigger names ... and possibly worse performances.

According to a new TMZ report, producers have been given direct orders to avoid D-List celebrities and go after bigger stars. Instead of saying "Who!?" audiences might be saying "How did they get him!?"

As part of this renewed focus on attracting household-name celebrities, producers are reportedly offering stars complete control over the rehearsal schedules. Yep, they are saying there is no minimum rehearsal requirements -- that could mean audiences are in for some disastrous dances.

The stars will also have the final word regarding music and costume selections.

TMZ reports no "big names" have yet been signed, but an Us Weekly story placed 'Jersey Shore' star Snooki in possible negotiations for the series.

In an interview from January 2011, Snooki had some less-than-kind words for the show: "I feel, like, 'Dancing with the Stars' is for, like, celebrities that fell off and they need a way to get back in." Actress and singer Christina Milian and reality star Rob Kardashian were also named in Us Weekly's report.

Season 13 premieres Mon., Sept. 19 at 8:00PM, with the results show on Tues., Sept. 20 at 9PM.

I have been watching DWTS since the beginning and I just love the show. I would love to see Jake Gyllenhaal asked to be on the show. From what I read he works alot but maybe he could make an acception for this program. I would love to see him dance and I am sure he would be a ratings booster to the show.

So let me get this straight. Snooky (I hate that show and never watch it) is gonna tell the pros how she wants to dance? And the rest of the so called "new" stars will have the same advantage? Who's the professional here? What's wrong with those people? The people who don't know how to dance will be calling the shots? Well, that should make for an interesting show. I can't imagine seeing it to the end. Hopefully they'll rethink this and leave well enough alone.

Type your comment here Since when are Snookie and Rob Kardashian considered A List? A List is Harrison Ford, Hugh Jackman, Leo DiCaprio, Jen Aniston, etc.

I hate to admit this, but Snooky is RIGHT. (disclaimer: I hate Jersey Shore and the whole crew) This show is all about no name, reality tv, and washed up celebs trying to have a small come back. Cancel this show already or get REAL celebs. the worst idea was that horrible Ice Skating with the Stars. UGH what happened to good tv like Friends, Will and Grace, and Sienfeld. I miss that!

They lost me when Kirst ie Ally made it past the first week. She couldn't dance her way out of a paper bag. I think she was a mess through the whole process.
Bring in Kevin Bacon as one example.

Well..... your new idea of "big names?" making decisions they are probably not qualified to make? Probably doing much less 'practice' that will certainly show 'down' in the dancing? My heart goes out to the pro's who will have to put up with it.
Thanks.... 'Dancing With the Stars'......I needed to cut my TV time anyway.....

Snookie is now concidered an A list celebrity? .Rob Kardashian? If that is the best that the producers can do, .I certainly won't be watching.
