'Top Gear' Trying to Replace Trucks With Cars, Tests Hauling Manure (VIDEO)

'Top Gear' season 2 premiereThe hosts of the American version of 'Top Gear' (Sun., 10PM ET on History) decided to see how much manure regular cars could haul for their Season Premiere. Why do this?

Well, no matter what anyone might want you to believe, it was so they could pour steaming piles of manure onto each other.

The idea was to find a more fuel-efficient replacement for the sturdy pick-up truck, so they put three regular cars through a series of tests. On a budget of $2,000, each of the guys made their choice, but only one would be the ultimate replacement.

We did get a chuckle out of the manure pouring onto the vehicles with the guys inside them, as we can only imagine how hot it was and how disgusting it smelled. In the end, though, who won? Adam Ferrara took the manure challenge with his Ford Maverick, but honestly, all we were wondering was, when does the next episode of the UK original air?

We applaud their efforts to try and forge their own brand, further removed from the original, but the reason this show exists is because of the magic the original created. So straying too far takes you from the magic. Unfortunately, this variation on the formula still hasn't found its winning blend.
