Krista Pushes A Car Around a Race Track on 'Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss' (VIDEO)

Krista, 'Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition' season finaleChris Powell didn't pull any punches with Krista, his candidate for total body transformation on the season finale of 'Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition' (Mon., 10PM ET on ABC). Normally, he waits until Phase II or III for extreme physical challenges, but he set Krista up with one during the first three months.

Starting at 445 lbs, he set her the task of pushing him in a car around the 1.5-mile track at the Texas Motor Speedway. All of this on the way to her Phase I goal of losing 100 lbs to earn a brand new car.

Krista powered through the challenge, through the 12 weeks and lost 105 lbs. As for the car she won? It's the same one she pushed at the Texas Motor Speedway, so she couldn't have been more excited.

The rest of the journey had a lot of ups and downs. Krista deals with stress by eating and her daughter's seizure condition makes her extremely stressed. Three weeks into Phase II she was up 25 lbs, but she then turned it around and was down 25 lbs from her Phase I weight by the end of Phase II.

By the end of Phase III, she was back up 30 lbs, but she turned it around again and dropped 60 lbs during Phase IV. In the end, she dropped a whopping 180 lbs, and while it was a tumultuous year, at least her overall direction was the right one. From 445 to 265 lbs is a huge weight off of her shoulders, which frees her up to be there for her daughter more than she was able to before.

That's it for the first season of 'Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition.' We found these stories inspirational and think Powell is a very engaging television personality. The show seemed to have more energy than 'Losing it With Jillian,' but didn't feel quite as personal. That said, it performed better -- perhaps the 'EM' branding helped it. Do you think it should come back for a second season?

CHsrpist, the show wadelayed due to Presidential speech. DVR can't account for this, so all we can do is always add 30" to every recording~~~at least until debt ceiling mess is settled!

Definately bring the show back. It shows with diet, exercise and hard work we can all lose weight. It touches your heart but most importantly it forces you to realize what you can do if you are willing to work for it.

I also love this show....unlike the "other" weight loss program...each person here is competing with themself and not against others...and they are not "losers" for not losing more than someone else.....you can't help but cheer them on and be happy for their success rather than judge how they got to be so heavy. Think Chris is a great blend of an inspiring, caring, understanding person and a tough task master....Bring it back next season and I'd love to see how this years folks continued to lose.....thumbs up for me!

I DVR'd the show....tuned in 15 minutes into it...and it was some stupid Batchelorette program.....even though the guide said Extreme Makeover. So I have no idea if it actually aired in our area or not.

I love the show and Chris is amazing in how he treats his clients. It is short on weight loss tricks and says dieting is just hard work and will power. Hope the show continues and will continue to give the rest of us hope for losing weight even if it isn't in such large amounts. 5 stars from me!

EM: WL seems more understanding of the client. While stern, the client is treated with more compassion and understanding for the true cause or why people allow themselves to fail into fat. Jillian is too haughty and does not seem to truly care about the people she 'trains'. Krista did well. She has a lovely daughter and I understand the pain of wanting to cure your child overriding every other thought. Prayers for both!
