Stephen Colbert and Dan Rather Talk Vampires and Zombies (VIDEO)

Dan Rather, 'The Colbert Report'Patrick Rodgers of Philadelphia gained some notoriety when he successfully sued Wells Fargo. But as far as Stephen Colbert is concerned, the real story went untold by the likes of CNN's Don Lemon.

'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central) showed Colbert mock-fiercely grilling Lemon about the Rodgers story.

"Did you not notice that he was a vampire?" Colbert asked Lemon. "At no point did your journalistic instincts click in and say, 'Hey, maybe that's a more interesting story'?"

Lemon admitted that he had noticed Rodgers' sharp incisors but that that wasn't the real story. So Colbert asked veteran newsman Dan Rather what he would have done in that situation.

"Those cable boys missed an opportunity to nail that vampire," Rather said. "If I had been interviewing Henry Kissinger in 1970 about the secret bombings in Cambodia and discovered he was a zombie, I would have asked him whether he enjoyed eating human brains."

It's called following the story where it takes you. Colbert followed the story to Philadelphia where he uncovered that Rodgers isn't actually the undead evil fiend he expected. In fact, Colbert wound up being pretty impressed by his successful case against Wells Fargo.

As for the teeth? Well, they're sharp but he doesn't use them to bite people. Thank goodness!
