Jon Stewart Jokes About How Odd Twitter Account Names Sound on the News (VIDEO)

With the advent of Twitter into the social landscape, our news broadcasts have started sounding pretty strange. In the old days, when a news story wanted to talk about reader feedback, they had letters or man-on-the-street interviews, but social media has changed all that. And, as Jon Stewart showed us on 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central), that's not all that's changed.
Now that we're getting instant responses and feedback from Twitter and other like sites, we're hearing Twitter handles instead of real people's names.
It used to be Mary Smith from Sarasota, Florida said this or that. Now it's LadyBigMac, KrispiBacon, MrSwissCheese, or Jon Stewart's favorite -- DogFart.
Those are all real Twitter account names, and it can make for some very odd sound bites from our favorite newscasters. It's the gravitas with which they say the most bizarre or nonsensical Twitter names that makes it hilarious. They never break from their "serious" news anchor voice when saying them.
