'Project Runway' Cuts Five Designers in the Season 9 Premiere (VIDEO)

This edition got off to a way better start than recent years. I like that the oldest competitor stayed strong, though the previews show some of the kids will obviously be out to get him.
I remind myself that the first 10 weeks are usually to weed out the drama queens and the bad designers. Anya will not last. Her sewing skills will undercut her design skills.
I like the consistency of the same judges. They know how this works, how we got here. The competitors have to know the rules won’t change week to week.
I really liked whoever came up with this first challenge.

I haven't watched Project Runway since the network change. I'll tune in next Thursday. That Anya girl is getting quite a bit of negative press today. She's featured on several trashy blogs doing things to her boyfriend, likely her ex-boyfriend now, that should be kept private.

Will watch it til it becomes a rerun!!! Love Project Runway!!! I find Michael Kors somewhat a bit too critical at times-but I love his fashions.

I enjoy Project Runway and agree that guest judges are important. There are so many fashion designers who could judge. I missed PR when it was on Bravo and glad it is back. I actually liked the choices the judges made for the premier. Bert did have the best design.

Why don't they change up the judges like so many other reality shows do? I'm tired of that round-faced, orange homosexual (Michael Kors) and that bitchy sour puss (Nina). They embody the worst of the fashion industry with their tacky and cruel comments. Hardly anything pleases these two jaded human beings. Constructive criticism is one thing, but these two are just barracudas. Christina Ricci was a breath of fresh air, a class act.

I feel sorry for ANY of you that watch this crap......and it's terrible that you watch it, (thus, you support and put $ in this woman's pocket, even though she has done NOTHING with her life, except happened to be born and grow up with looks, and then spread her legs for THAT!). How about.... "Project, Do Something Creative With My Time", instead?

I, too, don't like the way that Project Runway started out. I've only missed 2 seasons since it started and last night was taken aback by this method of elimination.

Anya should not have stayed... there was one other that shouldn't have, either. I studied design in college before switching majors and I watch this show whenever it's available to me because I enjoy seeing the creativity - and get frustrated at the lack of it in some so-called designers.

I design and sell show clothes for the equine exhibitors - for you that are not totally city-bred, I'm talking horse shows. Not the jumpers and dressage folks - the Western folks who want bling and bang and glitter when they take their pleasure horses into the show ring.
