'Switched at Birth' Gets 22 More Episodes. 22!

Katie Leclerc, Vanessa Marano, Switched at BirthABC Family announced today that it has ordered 22 more episodes of its latest summer hit, 'Switched at Birth.' That'll make 32 episodes total for the show's first season.

The hourlong drama about two 15-year-old girls from opposite sides of the tracks who were -- you guessed it -- switched at birth was the network's highest-rated series debut of all time. After the last of the show's initial 10 episodes airs Mon., Aug. 8, the show will return with new episodes in early 2012, Deadline reports.

'Switched at Birth' features Katie Leclerc as Daphne, the deaf daughter of a Latina single mom who was actually the child of a rich white family, and Vanessa Marano as her counterpart.

As you watch AOL TV's interview with the cast from earlier in the season, consider the prowess of the show's casting department as you observe how much Leclerc and Lea Thompson, who plays her birth mother, look alike.

Oy! I love that show too. It's sad that it ended too soon.
