'Two and a Half Men' Premiere Details: A Parade of Stars and Ex-Girlfriends?
What's one way to drum up buzz for your show? Be super secret about your big changes. That's exactly what the producers of 'Two and a Half Men' are doing.According to Deadline, production on the new season begins in early August and the behind-the-scenes powers are keeping details close to their chest. However, since it is Hollywood we're talking about, some secrets have slipped out.
Deadline reports a good number of Charlie Harper's (Charlie Sheen) ex-girlfriends will be in the premiere. Perhaps for a funeral? Early reports indicated Chuck Lorre was going to kill off Sheen's character so he could never return to the series.
The house owned by Sheen's character will be for sale, prompting big name celebrities -- including past and present Lorre stars -- will look at buying the home. Kutcher is rumored to be in that group and Deadline reports he could be playing himself.
Meanwhile, Sheen is working to get his new sitcom, 'Anger Management,' off the ground by finding it a network to call home. He'll also be the subject of a Comedy Central Roast, airing on Sept. 19, the same night as the 'Men' premiere.
When CBS announced Kutcher's involvement in the project in May, the former 'That 70s Show' star said he wasn't out to replace Sheen.
"I can't wait to get to work with this ridiculously talented '2.5' team and I believe we can fill the stage with laughter that will echo in viewers' homes," Kutcher said in a statement. "I can't replace Charlie Sheen but I'm going to work my a** off to entertain the hell out of people!"
"We are so lucky to have someone as talented, joyful and just plain remarkable as Ashton joining our family," Lorre said in a statement. "Added to that is the deep sigh of relief knowing that our family stays together. If I was any happier, it'd be illegal."
'Two and a Half Men' returns on Mon. Sept. 19 at 9PM on CBS.
