Does the Power of Veto Mess Up Daniele's Plans on 'Big Brother'? (VIDEO)
When Daniele nominated Rachel and Brendon for eviction this week on 'Big Brother' (Wed., 8PM ET on CBS), her plan was to try to ensure one of them went home. Breaking up an established power couple that's been dominating in challenges and controlling the house since day one can't be a bad idea; especially when they'd outed her plan to backdoor Jeff and Jordan leaving her public enemy number one.!!SPOILER ALERT!!
What she needed to do next was ensure that either she or one of her allies won Power of Veto so those nominations could stay the same. Unfortunately, that proved to be difficult and in a way confirmed that she was right to see the pair of them as huge threats in the game.
Brendon came up with the victory in the flashback challenge, recalling and replaying earlier challenges. But if Jeff and Jordan were paying attention, his strategy to mess with Daniele one last time may wind up hurting Rachel in the game.
His plan was to take her off the block and leave himself there. But he wanted to lie to everyone and say he was taking himself off, so that whatever plans Daniele had in place to replace him would be thrown for a wrinkle and she'd have to make a last-minute change.
Unfortunately for him, Daniele already had a contingency plan in place should Brendon leave himself on the block. She simply nominated Jordan as a likely pawn to hopefully ensure Brendon gets voted out. The only thing that might hurt Jordan is that she's already won this game, but she's not a real threat at this time and everyone likes her, so she should be okay.
So while Brendon thought he was awesome for throwing Daniele for a loop, what he instead did was lie to Jeff and Jordan's face about his intentions. If they decide to question this, Rachel's going to have to do some fast thinking to convince them to work with her.
At the same time, they're already talking about possibly backdooring Daniele next week, going against their own deal they made with her. Would putting Jordan up as a pawn constitute Daniele going back on the deal, if she'd talked to them about it in advance. The key was to not put up anyone against Brendon who might get more votes than him and Jordan may really be the only candidate for that.
Do you think Brendon will be eliminated this week? If so, what will Rachel do? Will she convince Jeff and Jordan to work with her and eliminate Daniele? Without Brendon to help her emotional breakdowns, will she lose her mind completely if she doesn't win HoH? And where will the other newbies fall in this veteran rift?
