A Friend and Luck Helps Fiona Land Investors for Her 'Web Therapy' (VIDEO)

'Web Therapy' - 'Shrink Rap'Lisa Kudrow has taken the leap from the Internet to television with 'Web Therapy' (Tue., 11PM ET on Showtime). The series has run for three seasons online and was recently re-purposed by Showtime, with additional scenes being filmed, for a ten-episode first season.

It's certainly a unique presentation, with everything being seen from the vantage points of web cameras pointed at Fiona (Kudrow) and her various friends and patients as she tries to establish a new therapy modality of three-minute sessions over the web.

After a disastrous test session with Ted, a psychologist and representative from her former employers and potential investors, fortune dropped in Fiona's lap thanks to an unexpected chat with her friend, who is also the receptionist where she used to work.

Inspired by Fiona, Gina revealed that she'd begun sleeping with Jeremy at the company. He'd given her so many gifts that she didn't know what to ask for, so asked Fiona if she wanted anything. Bam! She gets a second go at a test therapy session.

This time, she actually helped Ted have a major breakthrough using "word affiliation," which she invented. Yes, Fiona is that clueless and inept as a therapist, which is why it's always amazing when she manages to genuinely help some people in her three-minute window.

With that, the investment capital started coming in and it looks like her web therapy business is ready to expand and accept new clients. Maybe starting with Ted's.

'Web Therapy' is certainly a unique presentation on the television screen. And while Kudrow is fun in a variation on the dim-witted persona we've seen from her a lot, it's really the various guest stars and supporting cast that make the show worth tuning in for week after week.

Maybe, now that she's no longer desperately trying to get this start-up off and running, we can settle into a groove of her having patients more regularly, with her family life running parallel, we'll see what this show can deliver. Any chance to see more of Victor Garber and Lily Tomlin, as Fiona's husband and mother respectively, is okay by us!
