I see it everyday. In a dept store I heard a young girl age about ten years old tell a cashier
to F____Off while her mother stood and laughed. Thank God for the older generation,
because if it wasn't for them you would be speaking German or Japenese.

If by "older generation" you mean anyone over 30, then I'm in that generation. I get why people watch shows like The Jersey Shore...at the heart of human nature is the desire to watch a train wreck. We all rubber-neck accidents, when someone famous dies, we want every tiny bit of information, when marriages implode we want all of the sordid, juicy details...we're voyeurs. The only difference in our behavior now, compared to our parents and grand-parents is decorum and the tools that we have which has made everything so easily accessible...24 hour news cycles, the Internet, texting, Facebook, Twitter, cell phone cameras....you name it we have access to it immediately. We're not only voyeuristic, we're also ravenous for immediacy. So when you have a group of publicity junkies like the Jersey Shore crew, they become addictive...like little hits of nose candy....chocolate....booze....shopping....shoes, people just get hooked and can't wait for their next misstep so that it can become a topic of mocking, sniping and amusement.
