Linus Roache Dusts off 'Law & Order' Character for 'SVU,' 'Smallville' Actor Flies to 'Chuck' & More Casting News

Linus RoacheLinus Roache is bringing back Michael Cutter, his 'Law & Order' character, for a spin on 'SVU.'

According to TVLine, Roache will appear in the Season 13 premiere of 'Law & Order: SVU.' The character now oversees the Special Victims Unit as bureau chief of the district attorney's office.

"I am very happy to be bringing Michael Cutter back to life and exploring how he has evolved into his new position of being a bureau chief and possibly even a mentor," Roache said in a statement. "I think Special Victims is going to be an area where Cutter's passion for justice can really come forth."

'Law & Order: SVU' premieres on Wed., Sept. 21 at 10PM.

In other casting news ...

Scott Wolf has booked a potentially recurring guest spot on the 'NCIS' Season 9 premiere. Wolf will play FBI Agent Casey Stratton. Expect some surprises. [TVLine]

'Smallville' star Justin Hartley is heading to 'Chuck.' Hartley didn't reveal any character details, just that he was filming a guest spot. [Justin Hartley/Twitter]

Auggie has a new girlfriend on 'Covert Affairs.' Devin Kelley will play Parker, the younger sister of a man who served in Iraq with Auggie. [TV Guide]

Derek Waters will guest star on 'Happy Endings.' Waters will play Dave's old friend Glaze. [TVLine]

Roy Dotrice and Hannah Murray are joining HBO's 'Game of Thrones.' Dotrice will play Pyromancer Hallyne, the Chief of the Guild of Alchemists and Murray will play Gilly. Murray's character is one of the women living with Old Craster. [THR]

Last I heard of Roy Dotrice had him hovering at death's door. Great to see that he not only pulled through, but is working again.

I think L7O, SVU id doomed. Replacing the main characters is such a stupid move by NBC. The people who run NBC seem to have a clear goal of destraying the entire network.
