TBS Cancels 'Lopez Tonight'
TBS has pulled the plug on George Lopez's late night talk show, 'Lopez Tonight.'"TBS has reached the difficult decision not to order a third season of 'Lopez Tonight.' Thursday will be the final episode of the show," the network said in a statement.
"We are proud to have partnered with George Lopez, who is an immensely talented comedian and entertainer," TBS said. "TBS has valued its partnership with George and appreciates all of his work on behalf of the network, both on and off the air."
'Lopez Tonight' premiered in November 2009 to 1.7 million viewers on TBS. When Conan O'Brien joined TBS, his series pushed 'Lopez' from 11PM to midnight. 'Lopez Tonight' has been averaging about 400,000 viewers.
During its second week, 'Lopez Tonight' was watched by an average of 1.3 million viewers. Its numbers in the coveted 18-34 and 18-49 demographics bested then-season averages of popular shows 'The Colbert Report,' 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,' 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,' 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' and 'Last Call with Carson Daly.'
