Brooke Finds Out Her New Horse Is Hurt on 'Texas Women' (VIDEO)

As a professional barrel racer, Brooke Jeter has to know her horses well, to be able to read every movement or hesitation. So when her new horse Whiskey wasn't moving with her the way he should on 'Texas Women' (Thursdays, 10PM on CMT), she knew there was a problem. Unfortunately for both of them, it turned out to be a problem that would keep Whiskey off the track for a while."So Whiskey did not do as well as I thought he was going to," she said after putting him through a test run. Whiskey wasn't pulling with her on the turns and reacting smoothly to her commands. "I thought to myself, something's not right, and that's what I was thinking the rest of my run, something's still not right," she said.
That led to a visit to the vet, who said Whiskey has ligament problems and possibly a cyst in his ankle. "This is a byproduct of what this horse does for a living," he said. "High-speed athletes, human or equine, hurt themselves more then I do sitting on the couch."
That made Jeter legitimately sad as she got Whiskey ready to go home. "You're going to be pissed because you're going to have to be living in a stall for a while," she said. Sometimes you've got to leave Whiskey alone for a while.
