Sarah Palin Coincidentally Goes to Iowa on 'The Colbert Report' (VIDEO)
Apparently, you can't have a party (or even a Republican party debate) without Sarah Palin appearing somewhere in the immediate vicinity. The former governor of Alaska announced that she would be visiting the Iowa State Fair this weekend, "coincidentally" just thirty miles away from the current Republican debates currently being held in Ames. This startling case of kismet certainly wasn't lost on Stephen Colbert on last night's 'Colbert Report' (weeknights, 11.30PM ET on Comedy Central), who suspected that this wasn't all about the funnel cake (invented by Thomas Edison, don't you know?).
"This is the same kind of coincidence that took her bus tour to New Hampshire on the day Mitt Romney declared his candidacy," Colbert wryly observed. "Apparently, Sarah Palin's version of the Bat-signal is anyone else's spotlight."
