It's Larry David to Ricky Gervais' Rescue on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm (VIDEO)

This week, Larry David finally set foot in New York City on 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (Sun., 10PM ET on HBO). And when you think of New York, you think of ... Ricky Gervais?

Well, regardless, Gervais was the special guest in this week's insanity, and his presence must have inspired the writers as this was a brilliantly written and tightly crafted installment of 'Curb.' Perhaps the only surprise for David's character was a moment of genuine bravery.

In the beginning of the episode, David met a girl on the plane to New York when he tripped over his shoelaces and took down a belligerent and abusive passenger. But when she found out the truth, she gravitated toward Gervais.

At the end of the episode, though, David followed them on the subway, where we saw Gervais cowering before a mugger. Armed with an Italian loaf of bread, David charged the guy and took him down, saving the woman and Gervais.

Don't worry, though. He only did it to show up Gervais, and his lady. And because he's Larry David, he promptly got his shoelace stuck in the subway door. After a moment of genuine triumph, there must be that balance of humiliation.
