'MasterChef' Judge Graham Elliot: Suzy Picked Christian for His Talent, Despite His Arrogance

Graham ElliotGraham Elliot is a world renowned chef and judge on Fox's 'MasterChef' who'll be guest blogging for AOL TV from time to time this season. Here are his thoughts on this week's episode ...

Here we are with the fantastic four!

This was a big big deal for us and it was important to show our last four that they are part of a worldwide phenomenon. This competition spans almost 30 countries, and we were confident that our American home cooks could impress the panel of international judges.

I'm not surprised Suzy picked Christian. She knows he can be arrogant but I think she has always respected his talent. It really is a battle of two different mindsets: on one hand you have the technical chefs who approach cooking as more of a craft, and on the other you have those who cook with more of an artistic touch.

That pantry was out of control. We spent a lot of time making sure we had ingredients that represented the country. There was lamb, beef, pork, lobster, chicken, spot prawns, duck and amazing produce. Nothing says USA like amazing product, and this selection was badass!

When the dishes were presented, Kunal asked "why Thanksgiving" which I can understand, but I think Suzy wanted to do something very American for the judges in consideration of the ingredients we provided. There were some tasty parts to the dish. I'm not surprised that Christian threw Suzy under the bus, seeing how much he disliked the dish. Unfortunately, he probably either should have spoken up a LOT earlier or just held his tongue in front of the judges.

For The Blue team, I agreed with Sebastien's comments about the lobster. When I hear there is lobster in the dish, I want to see that lobster.

While the dish was great, not cleaning the prawns was an embarrassing mistake. In the end, all the judges agreed that the Adrien and Jennifer had the better dish. Suzy and Christian had to duke it out in the Pressure Test, which was a battle. Suzy may have more baking experience, but Christian is also very technical and he's a fighter.

There are only three components to the pie -- the crust, the lemon filling and the meringue. Each can be tricky to perfect. Christian's pie looked fantastic. While his crust was a little uneven and it seemed like his meringue broke, the curd was nice.

Suzy's little peaks on her pie were a little weird and resulted in uneven color and texture. Her lemon filling was great but she needed more meringue, and lastly, her crust wasn't consistent.

It was a close call but Christian's pie was better and it was time for Suzy to leave MasterChef.

I fully expect to see her with not one but a fleet of amazing food trucks one day and I will happily be a regular customer!

Watch the final three face-off tonight ... IT'S SO ON!!

Unlike the likeable Whitney, last years winner, whose cookbook I will buy....if Christian wins this year, I will not buy nor watch anything with him on it. He is detestable and highlights the worst characteristics of chefs on tv. He has not earned the arrogance he wears.

Please quit with the selling of kitchen untensils on the show. The little ads for the pots or whatever are just so stupid.
