Denis Leary may have gotten a little too friendly with his dog. His dog definitely got too friendly with him in a story he related on 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!). He suspected it might have to do with how he talks to the dog, while Chelsea Handler seemed more concerned with what he wore -- or didn't wear -- to the pool.

Leary explained that he talks to his dog the way you normally talk to an adult, and in their conversations, he often told the pooch how handsome he was. Leary suspects that may be why he was sexually assaulted by the dog poolside.

Anyone who's ever owned a dog knows this is the price we can pay sometimes for their love and companionship. Natural instincts take over and you can find yourself awkwardly assault and compromised. Leary has a big dog, so it was particularly distressing.

"Do you think you would have been more open to something like this happening if you were still drinking?" Handler asked.

After a long, thoughtful pause, Leary responded. "Yeah."

On behalf of the dog and our overactive imaginations, we're ever so grateful Leary is living clean and sober these days.
