Taylor and Russell Armstrong on 'The Early Show''The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' was supposed to premiere September 5. The apparent suicide of Russell Armstrong, ex-husband of Real Housewife Taylor Armstrong, has put that in doubt. According to The Hollywood Reporter, executives at Bravo are waiting at least a day or so to decide what to do with the season. Wednesday, 'The Early Show' (weekdays, 7AM on CBS) reported on Russell Armstrong's life and death.

The report covered Russell's split with Taylor, including Taylor's allegations of physical abuse, quoting an interview Russell did with Rumorflix.com. "The pressure of being in the TV spotlight was pretty overwhelming," said Russell. "It took our manageable problems and made them worse." They also spoke with Mike Fleeman, West Coast editor of People.com, who said, "We asked him about the allegations of physical abuse and he says, 'Look, things got out of hand, yeah maybe I did some of this stuff."

The couple were reportedly also facing a $1.5 million lawsuit alleging that Russell, and investment banker, had diverted investors' funds to make the couple look rich for the cameras. "He was still paying for this fictitious persona to be on a reality show," said Ronald Richards, Armstrong's attorney. "It was always running at a deficit worse than the federal government."

The 'Real Housewives' franchise has always been about gossip and drama. Is this too much drama for Bravo?
