Is Kendall Jenner the New Pippa Middleton?

by Crystal Bell, posted Aug 18th 2011 9:00AM
Kendall Jenner, Pippa MiddletonAt the beginning of the Kim Kardashian wedding frenzy, Khloe Kardashian-Odom described her sister's forthcoming nuptials to Kris Humphries as "royal wedding number two." And after a whirlwind three months of wedding planning -- and $30 million later -- it looks like Kim's extravagant fairytale wedding could in fact rival that of William and Kate's in more ways than one.

For many, Pippa Middleton upstaged her older sister Kate Middleton (and nearly blew up Twitter in the process) during Kate's royal wedding to Prince William of Wales. Pippa's skin-tight white Alexander McQueen dress made international headlines; the Daily Mail even dubbed her "Her Royal Hotness."

Now, with Kim's nuptials only days away, we have a feeling that 15-year-old Kendall Jenner -- the oldest daughter of Bruce and Kris Jenner and Kim's younger half-sibling -- is going to be the breakout star of this Hollywood wedding phenomenon.

Let's face it: Kourtney has a baby, Khloe wants a baby with her husband Lamar and Kim's getting married and starting to settle down. So it looks like there's room for younger sister Kendall to rise in the ranks and become the biggest name in the Kardashian bunch. (Youngest sister Kylie, 14, still has another year to perfect her spotlight-stealing skills.)

If Pippa can outshine the Duchess of Cambridge on her big day, then Kendall should have no trouble outdoing sister Kim. But Pippa and Kendall have more in common than just being a part of larger-than-life weddings. Read on for more similarities ...

Pippa and Kate MiddletonThey have high-profile sisters
Kendall: With 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' in its fifth season, the Kardashians are now household names. It's not only the most-watched show on E!, but it's also spawned three successful spinoffs: 'Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami,' 'Kourtney & Kim Take New York' and 'Khloe & Lamar.' KimKardashian.com is one of the most popular celebrity websites in the world, and Kim alone has a net worth of $35 million. But even with three reality superstar pros as older sisters, Kendall is already poised to begin her own trajectory to fame.

Pippa: Her older sister Kate made international headlines for her engagement and subsequent royal wedding to Prince William. An estimated hundreds of millions of people watched Kate say "I do" to her prince charming and become Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Pippa Middleton and Price HarryThey have celebrity friends
Kendall: is taking a play from her big sister's handbook and getting her Hollywood networking on. Justin Bieber is even playing matchmaker for the raven-haired, leggy high school student. And once you're friends with the Biebs, no one else really matters.

Pippa: She stood side-by-side with Prince Harry during William and Kate's first kiss, and their immediate connection sparked rumors that the two were the next hot royal couple. According to both camps, they're just good friends, but she can still hold her own.

Kardashian sistersThe camera loves them
Pippa: Since her big sister's royal nuptials, Pippa has been a paparazzi favorite and tabloid sensation. Not to mention that the Duchess of Cambridge isn't the only Middleton to have strutted her stuff on the runway. Little sister Pippa, along with a group of Edinburgh University undergrads, once walked at a charity fashion event in 2004. Pippa's also the subject of her own TLC special, and recently, Simon Cowell told Life & Style that he believes Pippa has a career in television.

Kendall: Meanwhile, 15-year-old Kendall, who surprisingly towers over her sisters at 6 ft. tall, has lent her famous face as a model for brands like Forever 21, Lucca Couture and bikini designer Leah Madden.

Pippa MiddletonThey love the cameras
Kendall: It's a well-known fact that the Kardashians never shy away from a camera -- it's practically in their blood -- and Kendall is no different. Just as the camera loves her, the feeling seems to be mutual.

Pippa: With all of the tabloid fever surrounding her, you'd think Pippa would shy away from the cameras, but she seems to be embracing all of the constant attention with a smile.

Kendall JennerThey're both the life of the party
Pippa: U.K. tabloids often describe Pippa as the livelier of the Middleton sisters. In 2008, Tatler magazine praised her looks, her vivacity and her good connections to declare her the No. 1 Society Singleton of the the year. Recently a photograph, reported to be several years old, emerged of Pippa partying a little too hard in a lavender bra while dancing up against a boxer-clad male friend.

Kendall: Kendall knows how to poke fun at herself, and she's quite handy with a camcorder. She and her younger sister Kylie are lip-syncing pros, having made video covers of Katy Perry's 'Firework' and Taylor Swift's 'Better Than Revenge.'

Kendall is a true beauty! I think the most NATURALLY beautiful of ALL the sisters.
Where did she get that fabulous height? Even if she wasn't a K, she'd make it big as a model. And she's only 15???
nuff said!

Oh Please!!!! The Kardasians are making a great living at selling themselves. They are TV personalities. None of them will ever marry a member of a royal family, NEVER. Unless you consider rich athletes royalty. They talk about things on that show that Kate and Pippa would never dream of letting go public. Maintaining privacy is classy. Throwing the F bomb and other cuss words is definitely not classy. Sharing that you are on birth control with the general public or showing your sister waxing your private parts, not classy. I watch the Kardasians and I know they are laughing all the way to the bank. However, to compare any of them to Kate or Pippa is ridiculous.

Kate is so much prettier than Pippa. Those Jenner girls will outshine the K sisters in time.

Everyone that had something negative to say, took time out of their day to read the article and then comment about something they don't understand how people watch. Whether you love Kardashians, or hate them, you are obviously entertained by them enough to spend time writing and reading about them. A lot of the problems that are on the show are real issues that Americans are dealing with. Not everyone needs to look at them as role models for their children, but at least they are a family that sticks together. If you don't like the show or the Kardashians, find something else to watch or read.

What has any of them done??? I don't get it? I dont watch anything their on, I don't buy any magazines their in. The only one of that family that has ever done something is the father. Owell they have a VERY good publicist and of course Ryan Seacrest. It's also so tacky that they spent so much on the wedding, obviously they don't care what the majority of American's are going through another reason not to like them UGH!

Just because you write it, doesn't make it so. You can try all you want to shove the Kardashians down our throats as "media's" next royal family, but as a mother of a 16 year old, these are the last women I'd want my daughter to look up to or consider role models. Sex tapes, impromptu weddings, child out of wedlock, drunken antics - its a bit much when you put it all together. They have become famous for nothing, but just as everything else, is will eventually go away.I admire Kris for building an empire out of nothing, but this doesn't make them "royalty", just royally entertaining.

You are absolutely right. They are SOOOO FAR away from "royal". Ordinary ( no talent, very hairy) people,
who's in TV for entertain us. Which is ...nice, (but who cares?!) But that's all.
Calling "royal" is VERY SAD, and extremely REDICULES.

HOW in the blessed name of providence do these people become relevant! Surely our society is in need when this kind of nonsense....Kardashian? and our Olympic decathalon hero a prop for these strangely untalented women. Oh God Save Us All !

I LOVE THE KARDASHIANS. Reading all of these comments leads me to believe that I am the only one who read this article because I like to see news about the Jenner/Kardashian family. If all of you hate them so much, why do you read the damn article? They're not the most watched show on E because Kim released a sex tape or because they have big butts. PEOPLE DO LIKE THEM, evidently a lot of people.
Keep your hate and disgust to yourself. There is enough negativity in the world today.

There is no way on earth that any of the Kardashians possess an 8th of class that Kate has in her little finger. Have they not realized money cannot buy class!!! I mean who gets a total face lift for a wedding!! unfreaking real can you say vain......
