Former 'Real Housewives' Star: 'I Considered Suicide'
Following the suicide of 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star Taylor Armstrong's estranged husband Russell, Danielle Staub, former star of 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' is speaking out about the pressures of the cameras.Staub said her time on the hit Bravo series led her to consider suicide on more than one occasion.
"I was very close to taking my own life -- not just on one occasion -- it's been several times," Staub told Entertainment Tonight.
Staub said her children were aware of her thoughts, and that's what shames her the most. "I don't have words to describe how alone you feel. And everybody's coming at you, and judging you, and they don't even know you."
However, Staub, who is currently starring in VH1's 'Famous Food,' said the thought of her children living with her actions -- without her there -- is what stopped her from committing suicide.
"I wanted them to remember me -- even if I'm going through my struggles -- alive," she said.
Armstrong, too, said he struggled with the pressures of reality TV. In an interview weeks before his death, he told People that the cameras were adding pressure to an already stressful situation.
"It got really overwhelming," he told People. "When you get a TV show involved and all the pressure, it just takes it to a whole new level. ... We were pushed to extremes."
