'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Season 2: Editing Underway, Premiere Date Still Up in the Air

by Chris Harnick, posted Aug 19th 2011 12:55PM
Real Housewives of Beverly HillsBravo has finally decided the fate of Season 2 of 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' following the suicide of Russell Armstrong, estranged husband to star Taylor Armstrong: segments between the couple, who were separated at the time of his death, will be edited.

Variety reports that the storyline regarding the Armstrongs' marital issues could significantly reduce or remove Russell's presence, although Bravo has not confirmed exactly what will be changed. However, as of right now the premiere date is still Sept. 5.

"Contrary to what is being reported, we have not made a decision to change our original premiere date but we are in the process of re-editing the show," Bravo president Frances Berwick told Variety.

While public interest remains high, there are real people involved in the delicate situation, which is why debates about delaying the series are ongoing, a source close to Bravo told AOL TV exclusively.

The other housewives, who are rumored to be leaking confirmations of delays to other news outlets, are not involved in discussions. But executive producers are keeping in touch with Taylor regarding the possible delay, AOL TV's source said.

With Sept. 5 fast approaching, a decision regarding the premiere date will be made "soon-ish."

One thing that we can confirm is true: As first reported by TMZ, Bravo will not be filming Russell Armstrong's funeral.

Season 2 of 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' is currently set to premiere on Sept. 5 at 9PM ET.

Tell us: Do you think Bravo should delay the premiere of 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' or keep it as scheduled?

the FULL season 2 should air as filmed. Why be moralistic all of a sudden. All parties including the Armstrong's signed releases. This is why we watch this kind of stuff...to watch little horror stories unfold. Rhobh didn't kill Mr. Armstrong, Mr. Armstrong did! The show MUST go on unedited! I love how people worry about poor taste all of a sudden. This is show business..Bravo don't wuss out!

Did I watch the same show everyone else was watching? Russel came off as a controlling and mean: he said and acted very mean toward his wife. If he was like that on camera, what happened when the cameras were off? Can't blame editing on the things I picked up on.....I was thrilled when Taylor filed for divorce!
Bravo should not edit a thing, show abusers for what they are...most are cowards. He knew what was coming and once the truth came out....on what a douche he was, he knew his reputation was toast. So, what does he do?....he gets the last word, kills himself, makes Taylor suffer and feel guilty and forces Bravo to edit him out.......
he knew what he was getting into.....my sympathies to Taylor and the kids, but no sympathies for an abuser who took the cowards way out.

How can people watch that CRAP? Oh yeah, i forget. It's the same people watching the Kardashians.........Seriously, if people stopped actually watching thiscrap maybe those so called actors would have to get a real job instead of pimping out their families to make a living. :o)

The show should be about guy's who pay out the nose for well kept, spoiled, plastic wives. They can get together complain about the new boob jobs they bought. And bring pictures to swap. And how they work all day while she banging the pool boy. That I would watch.Naaaa!

This "suicide" sounds suspecious, I don't care what the medical exam9iner thinks,. Russell because of his financial woes, may have got into trouble oweing money to the wrong people. If he did kill himself, then what a cowardly selfish act of horror he left for his wife to find. Something doesn't add up.... I think he was murdered!
