Giuliana Rancic Drops the Award She's Presenting to Kara DioGuardi (VIDEO)

Kara DioGuardi, 'Giuliana & Bill'Public speaking is a very difficult thing for some people to master. There's something about all those faces staring back at you that can cause your body to freeze and your brain to push the flush lever on everything you were planning to say. We saw it last week on 'Giuliana & Bill' (Mon., 8PM ET on Style) when Giuliana bombed as host of an awards show.

This week, all she had to do was present a Lifetime Achievement Award to her good friend Kara DioGuardi, but nevertheless Bill was nervous for her. We all were.

Giuliana started off shaky, but surprisingly dropping the award turned out to be the best thing that could have happened for her. She got the audience laughing, and that seemed to help her calm down. That and actually getting some laughs for her jokes had to help.

I'm with Chick and Stacy: I'm sick of these unknown people being referred to as 'stars' just because they appear once or so on a dumb reality show. What an insult to people like Meryl Streep and Glenn Close - REAL stars!!!!!!!

Until American Idol, I'd never even heard of Kara DioGuardi. Regardless, I'm not sure how someone that is only 40 years old could have earned a "Lifetime Achievement" award. Is a "lifetime" now defined as 40 years?? Maybe when you're a congressman's daughter you don't have to meet the same criteria that the rest of us do... ?

Who? What? Just who are these people, anyway, and what is THEIR claim to fame? Have a pimple in an odd place? Seems that Hollywood wants to make a reality show about it! Although, it would be more interesting than "Kate Plus Eight!"
