'Breaking In' Back on Fox?!

by Jean Bentley, posted Aug 24th 2011 1:10PM
Breaking In'Breaking In' is the little show that refuses to die. Fox ostensibly canceled the show this spring when it declined to order a second season for the fall, but didn't give up on the comedy altogether. Now, Deadline is reporting that Fox is thisclose to reviving 'Breaking In' for a 13-episode midseason order.

The half-hour comedy was originally created during the 2009-2010 TV season, but Fox passed on the pilot before eventually picking up the show for a midseason run earlier this year. Despite a generally positive audience reaction, 'Breaking In' didn't draw high enough ratings to become a sure thing for renewal. But something about the show is obviously very appealing to Fox and Sony TV execs, because they kept renewing the options on the actors' contracts.

Star Odette Annable, who recently signed on as a series regular on 'House,' has a provision in her 'House' contract that allows her to return to 'Breaking In' if need be.

Apparently, the new 'Breaking In' deal also includes a commitment to creator Adam F. Goldberg's new show about a dysfunctional family in the 1980s. The official news will be announced soon.

why they decided to bring this back is beyond me. i couldn't get past episode four. horrible writing, even worse acting...it won't make it a third season. it's truly terrible.
