They have been married for a LONG time. If she's signed off to the marriage, then she should tell him so. If not, they both need to compromise. The part of the story that wasn't really shown is the counseling that took place, and the effort that Nancy actually put into the process once she swallowed her pride. They are now down to 50 birds, and are not letting them breed anymore - so eventually they will all die. What happens when there is 1 Man, 1 Woman and 0 birds will be the true testament to whether or not this marriage will stand the test of time. The scarey thing is, if the 1 Man wants 1 Woman, but she doesn't - will he move on without her?

Simply put, 250 birds inside any house is unreasonable. This woman's attitude is arrogant and unreasonable. She seems to be telling her husband if you don't like it, leave. If there is a city or county ordinance defining the maximum number of pets allowed in a single residence it might provide a way out for the husband. If there is not, were I he, I would leave.

I don't like him or her. I think they are stubborn jerks.

I hope they figured out why she gravitated to her birds at first over her husband. Otherwise she made a choice that may end up causing her to get rid of the husband and go back to the birds again anyway. You don't nearly scrap a marriage for animals over just anything. There had to be an extremely traumatic event that precipitated that.
