Craig Ferguson Catches Kal Penn Up on Two Years of Pop Culture (VIDEO)

Kal Penn left Hollywood two years ago to get involved in politics, and wound up working within the Obama administration. Now he's back and looking forward to a role on 'How I Met Your Mother.' So he went to 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS) for a quick pop culture refresher.

Well, it was supposed to be a general plug for his return and his 'HIMYM' role, but that's not how things work on Craig Ferguson's show. They talked first about Penn's time in the White House, where he indicated he'd like to stay involved in both careers as possible. Especially with the re-election coming up.

But he admitted he'd been so busy, he had no idea what's been going on the past few years. So Ferguson filled him in on the important things, like 'Jersey Shore.' That's when Penn admitted to watching 'Jerseylicious.' Virtually no time for pop culture or TV and you pick 'Jerseylicious?'
