Train Performs 'Save Me, San Francisco' on 'Today' (VIDEO)
Train named their 2009 album 'Save Me, San Francisco' as a tribute to the city where they first came together. 'Hey, Soul Sister' was the smash single from that release, but the title track is perhaps the one that means a little more to them personally. Singer Pat Monahan spoke about the song Friday morning on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC)."I think starting the band in San Francisco and being around for 16 years, we got to the point where we kind of lost touch with where we started," said Monahan. "So 'Save Me, San Francisco' is our way of saying thank you, can you help us one more time."
The band then performed the song, a typically radio-friendly, mid-tempo rock tune featuring Train's typically inscrutable lyrics -- "I've been reggae and calypso, won't you save me, San Francisco." Get on that, San Francisco. Don't make Train go back to calypso.
