'Toddlers and Tiaras' Mom Defends Maddy's Enhanced Dolly Parton Impression (VIDEO)

When four-year-old Maddy Jackson plays Dolly Parton in pageants and competitions, she has to use a few enhancements. Namely, fake boobs and a fake butt. That didn't seem to bother her or her mother, Lindsay, who both appeared on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) to talk about 'Toddlers and Tiaras' and the child pageant lifestyle."When she wears the fake boobs and the fake butt, it's just like extra bonus," said Lindsay Jackson. Maddy's verdict? "I won a lot of prizes!" she yelled on a clip from 'Toddlers.' When 'Today' anchor Savannah Guthrie asked if she enjoyed the competition, little Maddy kissed her finger and pointed with a smile, which is apparently what a child pageant star does when she means "yes."
Guthrie asked Lindsay if she worried about the fact that the competitions are so narrowly focused on appearance, and Lindsay dodged the question mightily. "I don't worry about that with her because I explain to her that we use the hair pieces to keep her hair from being, you know, processed, from being sprayed on," she said. "I haven't touched her hair today." Maddy's real hair, said Lindsay, was in a bun under her lime green cowboy hat. So all is well. Plus, Maddy gets toys, so it's all fine with her.
