Nancy Grace on 'Dancing With the Stars' Offer: 'I Thought I Was Getting Punk'd'
Nancy Grace was just as shocked as we were that she was offered a spot competing for the mirrorball trophy on 'Dancing With the Stars.'The legal analyst and CNN anchor told 'Good Morning America' she was en route to a hearing for the Casey Anthony trial when she got the called.
"I was en route to the courtroom in the car," Grace said, "and at first, I thought I was getting punk'd. That someone had somehow gotten the Time Warner CNN cell number and was kidding me about doing 'Dancing With the Stars.'"
Needless to say, she wasn't getting pranked and Grace signed on for Season 13.
Already hard at work prepping for the Mon., Sept. 19 premiere, Grace said she's had to bandage up her feet.
"I'm used to doing battle in court and my feet have never really been an issue," she said. Referring to her professional dance partner Tristan McManus, Grace said, "This one keeps on going like a robot, so I'm trying to keep up."
Of course it wouldn't be a season of 'Dancing With the Stars' without fan fervor. Chaz Bono is the recipient of this season's viewer unrest. Grace said she's not getting involved.
"Unless it's got crime tape around it, I don't care," she said. "I met Chaz, an absolutely lovely person. I'm just waiting to see how he dances. I just don't think it's our business to judge other people for their personal decisions. Unless Chaz commits a felony, I don't have a problem."
