by Chris Harnick, posted Sep 2nd 2011 12:35PM
HawthoRNeTNT has canceled 'HawthoRNe' after three seasons.

Jada Pinkett Smith headlined the drama series about Christina Hawthorne, a tough nurse who becomes the COO and president of James River Hospital.

"TNT has decided not to order a fourth season of 'HawthoRNe,'" the network said in a statement. "TNT truly appreciates the tremendous dedication of everyone involved in 'HawthoRNe.' The series gave TNT the opportunity to work with many outstanding people, including Jada Pinkett Smith and the rest of the show's talented cast, crew, producers and writers. We wish everyone involved with 'HawthoRNe' nothing but the best."

The series also starred Marc Anthony, Michael Vartan and Vanessa Lengies. The first two seasons averaged a little more than 3 millions viewers each.

Season 3 debuted in June 2011 to 2.57 million viewers. Over its 10-episode third season, the show didn't crack 3 million viewers.

No word on other TNT bubble show 'Memphis Beat.'

Since the PTB don't think that the show is worth showing maybe they need to see all of our comments and maybe they might change their minds. that was one of the best shows out there. I didn't just watch it once, I had to watch it twice to make sure I caught every thing that I missed the first time I saw it. I think it is a "HUGE" mistake for you to CANCEL the show. Ask any one of the people who care!!! Isn't that who the show is for????

I am more than disappointed. I don't think there was a better dramatic series on TV. Jada and her crew "touched" upon all of the difficult contemporary subject matters with grace and tenacity... Wouldn't it be a "hoot" if the series won an Emmy for the season? It would really serve the decision makers right to end up with "egg on their faces". I hope that she decides to do more TV going forward. Bravo! Ms. Pinkett-Smith you just keep doing what you do!

Very disappointing. Like others, I am hoping that TNT will reconsider.
