Chaz Bono Says His 'Dancing With the Stars' Training 'Is Going Really Well'

It seems as though Chaz Bono has chosen to address his critics by training hard and giving it his all on the 'Dancing With the Stars' dance floor.Over the weekend Bono Tweeted that "Dancing rehearsal with @LaceySchwimmer is going really well. I had a little breakthrough today and I'm getting all the choreography down."
His pro dance partner Lacey Schwimmer told 'People' that Chaz is working hard and has already dropped six pounds in weight thanks to his hard work and the gruelling regimen known as the 'DWTS' workout plan.
Previous celebrities -- most famously Kirstie Alley last season -- who have appeared on 'Dancing With the Stars' have lost a ton of weight thanks to the show's punishing training schedule, and stars like Kelly Osbourne and Jenny Garth have praised the weight-loss benefits of appearing on the show.
The controversy over Bono's inclusion as the show's first transgendered contestant continues to rage on as Fox News contributor, psychiatrist and author Dr. Keith Ablow, urged parents not to let their kids watch the episodes of 'DWTS' in which Bono appears.
Meanwhile, Schwimmer -- who describes Bono as "such a kind person" -- Tweeted a photo of the pair in rehearsals, which shows her dance partner looking happy and relaxed.
But, despite Bono's newfound confidence, Schwimmer told 'People' that he still balks at the idea of dancing to anything by Sonny and Cher. "Chaz has already told me he doesn't want to dance to any of his parents' songs, but the show really wants it to happen, so we'll see."
'Dancing With the Stars' Season 13 premieres Mon., Sept. 19 at 8PM ET on ABC.
