Ferguson's Chat With James Marsden Was So Hot, Part of It Got Cut (VIDEO)

James Marsden, 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson'Somewhere at the studios of 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS) there is a piece of lost footage from Craig Ferguson's interview with James Marsden. The fact that it was cut out makes us want to know what was on it even more.

Fans of Ferguson's show know that he prides himself on performing off the cuff, and usually airs anything and everything that happens. This leads to some funny moments when things don't go as planned, or even awkward moments in interviews. But it's part of the joy of watching the show.

Leading into the cut, the pair were talking about the acting performances of Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman in 'Rain Man' -- see what we meant about anything and everything? Marsden said of Hoffman, "Come on. It's a little over the top."

Suddenly, we cut to Ferguson waving his arms and saying, "Oh, it's like we've been edited all over the place."

Then Marsden dropped a mention of the movie 'Tropic Thunder,' to which Ferguson responded with, "No, no. I don't know what you're talking about."

They then continued talking about how Ferguson had worked with Hoffman and how Hoffman was apparently very concerned about his t-shirts ... Come on! This is more interesting than whatever caused us to jump from him being a little "over the top" to 'Tropic Thunder'?

It's probably not really a big conspiracy, or all that controversial, but we choose to imagine this as some crazy conversation that either went way off-color, or got maybe a little too personal or insulting to ... someone.

Did they connect Tom Cruise's characters from the two movies somehow, imagining Les Grossman in 'Rain Man'? But that's not too controversial ... Hey, we'll probably never know for sure.

What do you think was said that was so bad?
