Il Divo Performs, Four Acts Move Forward on 'America's Got Talent' (VIDEO)

Was it perhaps bittersweet for Lys Agnes to watch Il Divo perform, sticking to their opera roots, to such applause on 'America's Got Talent' (Wed., 9PM ET on NBC). The four sounded fantastic, easily filling the theater with their rich harmonies. They were on hand to provide some much needed happiness on a tense night as six acts were sent home and four making it through to next week's finale episodes. I can be proud that I almost got it right, but I missed by one.
!!SPOILER ALERT!!
I underestimated the power of the patriotic heartstring, as the Silhouettes pulled it off in the votes and earned their spot in the finals. They were joined by the most obvious choice of the night, Team iLuminate, which means the lights will be off for half of the finale performance show. Last season we had one act that performed in the dark. How long until they all do?
POPLYFE was brought up against Landon Swank, and of course I had thought both might make it through. But Landon was asked to disappear, as the teen pop band rightfully surged ahead. But it was unreasonably cruel to make a kind-hearted man like Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. stand up there next to fellow singer 11-year old Anna Graceman.
Landau won that final spot, but he was as heartbroken as Graceman that he'd taken it from her. "It's hard being up here and taking it from these kids," he said sincerely. A class act to the end.
Will Landau or POPLYFE continue the streak of singers winning 'AGT,' or is it a season of dance, as Howie Mandel suggested? We'll find out next week.
