Talking TV Podcast Talks 'Louie' and 10 Returning Shows We're Excited About

With the onslaught of new shows around the corner, Ryan McGee and I decided to talk briefly about 10 returning programs we're quite interested in (we each picked five shows). And of course, the word "brief" was in our podcast planning documents, but it didn't quite work out that way. Between our opening gabfest about the FX show 'Louie,' which concludes its second season tonight, and the discussions of the other 10 shows, the podcast ended up being about 90 minutes long.
The rundown of shows we discussed, which includes 'The Good Wife,' 'Supernatural,' 'Boardwalk Empire,' 'Luther' and 'Glee,' is below.
Here are the running times for the various discussions:
'Louie': 0:00 -12:25 (I wrote about the show's excellent second season here; the season finale airs 10:30PM ET Thursday on FX)
'Sons of Anarchy': 12:25 - 22:45 (I wrote about the FX show's return here and here)
'Supernatural': 22:45 - 29:02 (The CW show returns Sept. 23, and yes, I'll be writing weekly recaps again this season)
'Parks and Recreation': 29:02 - 34:45 (The NBC show returns Sept. 22, and there's a glimpse of the Tammy-rific goodness to come here)
'Luther': 34:45 - 40:31 (The BBC America show returns Sept. 28)
'Chuck': 40:31 - 47:48 (The NBC show returns Oct. 21)
'The Office': 47:48 - 58:11 (The NBC comedy returns Sept. 22)
'Fringe': 58:11 - 1:07:30 (The Fox drama returns Sept. 23, the same night as 'Supernatural.' Give me a large glass of wine, put me in front of the TV and I'll be the happiest woman in America.)
'Boardwalk Empire': 1:07:30 - 1:16:32 (The HBO drama returns Sept. 25)
'Glee': 1:16:32 - 1:24:08 (The Fox show returns Sept. 20)
'The Good Wife': 1:24:08 - end (The CBS show returns Sept. 25)
Of course, we'll talk at greater length about some of these shows when they return or after their seasons have gotten under way. Think of these as the appetizers for some of the returning shows we'll be following with interest this year.
The usual reminders: You can grab the podcast from iTunes (where you can also subscribe) or you can get this week's gabfest from the Talking TV home site.
